I'm so exited about this new paint, I cant help it! I have to show you the little three drawer dresser I started working on tonight. I found it on Craigslist for $10!!! Such a find. Thank God for UT students moving for the summer. Here are some before photos:
I didn't realize I had the time stamp on my photos :(. Oh well. You get the idea. This piece is in good shape. No wood filler or Gorilla Glue necessary! That's always a great start when I only paid 10 bucks.
This little lady is unfortunately not real wood, so she will get a full paint job. Sometimes if the wood is nice, I like to stain the top, but the veneer on this one is a little cheesy. I had a hard time resisting the urge to use my new color, Paris Grey, but I need to turn these dressers as fast as I can so I can buy a little nicer furniture for my portfolio. So, this one will be painted in Old White (which I love) like the last and I will need to hunt for the perfect piece for my grey paint!
Hopefully I will get some time Saturday to finish this up!
Have a happy Friday!

Four Drawer Dresser and Chalk Paint
I finally bought my first quart of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint and....LOVE! It is so the only paint in my world. I will never be the same! No sanding, no priming! And the colors are beautiful, tasteful, perfect!

I put in my second order: Old White, Paris Grey, Clear Wax and a Wax Brush. I am waiting impatiently for it all to arrive so I can get started on my next little project -a little three drawer dresser! Pictures coming soon!
On a personal note: Thank you to my incredibly supportive family for everything you have done to push me toward my dream. Blake, the sacrifice you have made by staying up late with me and watching the boys when you get home from work has made all this possible. Sissy and Ryan, I cant thank you enough for the daily encouragment and brainstorming. You all know that without you, I would still be just dreaming.
Stay tuned for more dresser makeovers!

My first completed Chalk Paint makeover was this little four drawer dresser I found on Craigslist. This is what she looked like when we got her home.
Taking a piece of old, slightly abused, furniture and turning it into a beauty is what I am living for these days. So, I wiped it down with vinegar and water, brushed on two coats of Old White and lightly sanded all over. Blake and I thought it would add character to lightly distress some of the edges, so I did that by hand with 220 grit sand paper. Thanks for the wonderful after pictures, Sissy!
I wish everyone could reach through this photo and feel how smooth this finish is!!!
